Aug 8    Brown Bag Concert - August 2018
The Brown Bag Concert is a free lunchtime concert taking place at the United Center Plaza in Downtown Charleston. The August 8 concert will feature Blue Yonder & Friends.

Sponsored by American Medical Facilities Management, local musicians perform in the park 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month May through October. The Brown Bag Concerts are planned in coordination with American Federation of Musician’s Local 136.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch, grab takeout from a Downtown Charleston restaurant or purchase on-site from local vendors. Tables and chairs will be setup for those attending.

The lunchtime concerts stems from the Imagine Charleston Downtown Redevelopment Plan. The concerts are designed to showcase the talent of local musicians, encourage people to get away from their desk at the lunch hour and put a spotlight on various locations in Downtown Charleston.

Aug 18    Downtown Streetfest - Aug 2018

Streetfest is going to the dogs!

Are you a dog owner? Dog lover? If so, Downtown Charleston’s Streetfest on August 18 isn’t to be missed! Bring your pup and sign up for a dog race or enter one of our fun contests – dog costumes, silly dog tricks, ugliest dog competition (faces only a parent could love), largest and smallest dogs, and an owner-dog lookalike competition.

We’ll also have dog pools for wading, and local vets will be on hand with helpful info. You can visit with Flyaway Greg from Yeager Airport and have a drawing done of your dog by a local artist. We’ll have the Gaming Truck onsite again thanks to Kanawha County Public Library, and West Virginia American Water Co. will have their misting tent set up to cool everyone off. The Carpenter Ants will be providing music for the evening, and we’ll have lots of other fun activities for the whole family too. Stay tuned!

It’s FREE, fun, and family-friendly.

Special thank you to our sponsors: Title Sponsor City National Bank and Supporting Sponsors Spriggs Distributing Company, Bud Light, Hendrickson & Long, AARP, GAI Consultants, City of Charleston, Kanawha County Public Library, Rock 105/The Mix, and Tony The Tailor.
