Fifth Third Financial Empowerment Bus is Rolling into Charleston

The Fifth Third Bank Financial Empowerment Mobile is rolling into Charleston Monday, July 24 to provide free financial and mortgage counseling and free credit reports.

The Financial Empowerment Mobile, also known as an eBus, is a 40-foot long transit bus that has been retrofitted and turned into a mobile financial classroom.

Community members can board the eBus 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Charleston Area Alliance, located at 1116 Smith St. to gain access to to financial education and services. The event is free and open to the public. The eBus is equipped with Internet-accessible workstations and staffed by Fifth Third professionals who will offer free credit reports and credit scores, provide money management tips and budgeting help, offer information on affordable home loans and refinancing and assist with identity theft prevention tactics. Coinciding with the Fifth Third eBus stop, the bank will also present a Lunch & Learn at noon Monday, July 24 on Personal Finance and Small Business Lending at the Alliance. Kim Zwier, Fifth Third business relationship manager, and Brian Lake, Fifth Third financial wellness specialist, will deliver the financial education program to empower class participants to become more financially fit.

The easy-to-understand course is designed to help participants with their financial health, investment and planning and small business needs. Whether they are starting a business, managing a business’s growth or buying a business, this Lunch & Learn will provide an overview of important small business lending options.
