Pioneer West Virginia Federal Credit Union will mark the opening of its new headquarters and branch with a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 18 at 1316 Kanawha Blvd. E.

The credit union’s new 14,000 square foot, two-story structure is adjacent to its long-standing Kanawha Boulevard headquarters.

“We’d like to thank Pioneer West Virginia Federal Credit Union for its investment in the Kanawha Valley and congratulate the credit union on its new state-of-the-art facility,” said Matt Ballard, CEO of the Charleston Area Alliance. “We look forward to Pioneer’s continued growth throughout the region.”

The modern branch was designed to highlight the credit union’s relationship oriented philosophy and member convenience through technology. Instead of traditional teller stations, Pioneer’s new branch offers dialog pods allowing an open flow for members to better interact with staff. There are also self-service iPads available for online banking access with the added ability to apply for loans and additional services, WiFi and a self-service coin-counting machine.

“This new full-service branch continues our focus on providing a genuine member experience,” said Shannon Bradley, Pioneer West Virginia Federal Credit Union Members Experience Officer. “With innovative technology and ready to serve financial advocates, we have a much greater space allowing us to spend quality time with our members, enriching them with the financial education they need to make the best decisions for their families, because it’s more than just banking to us.”

Pioneer’s history dates back to the 1940’s when it was established as Kanawha Teachers Credit Union. It evolved over the years to serve anyone who lives, works or worships in one of the 10 counties the credit union serves.  Pioneer West Virginia Federal Credit Union is nationally recognized for excellence in the credit union industry, including being named Credit Union of the Year and ranking as one of the best credit unions to work for in the nation.

Pioneer West Virginia has six convenient locations, access to over 300,000 fee free ATM’s nationwide, and the ability to do banking virtually anytime and anywhere with a suite of e-services accessible from your computer or other smart device.

Today with an asset base in excess of $200 million, Pioneer provides a full range of financial services to more than 17,000 members.
