The Charleston Area Alliance Small Business Incubator is the region’s leading startup accelerator.
Aligning with the Alliance’s focus on local business growth, job creation and attracting innovative industries to the region, the incubation program – housed at the Alliance office at 1116 Smith St. – helps entrepreneurs grow their startups into strong and successful companies.

The Incubator offers flexible space at below market rates, plus a package of free and low-cost services – ranging from the free use of conference rooms to janitorial service. The space and package amenities allow entrepreneurs to focus on growth rather than bricks, mortar and administrative
issues.

In addition to access to a network of entrepreneurs and mentors, our incubation program offers
  • Incubation for up to five years
  • Secure office access 24/7
  • Conference rooms with state-of-the-art media equipment
  • Access to high-speed Internet, phone, mail, copiers and printers
  • Free parking
  • Kitchenette
  • Walking distance to downtown Charleston, The Clay Center, Capitol Market and Appalachian Power Park
  • Access to Alliance events and networking opportunities
Since it launched in 1986, under the Alliance’s predecessor organization BIDCO, more than 150 businesses have graduated from the incubation program creating approximately 425 jobs in the Kanawha Valley with a 75 percent company survival rate after five years.

The entrepreneurial hub is in the top three floors of the century-old former Charleston Hardware Company warehouse, while the Alliance office is on the building’s first floor. The dynamic workspace features 40 flexible office suites – many with open floor plans and exposed brick.

The Alliance is currently looking for entrepreneurs who can benefit from being part of the incubator program. If you are interested in being part of this dynamic community, contact Roger Youn at ryoung@charlestonareaalliance.org to take a tour of the space and apply today.
